Acupuncture
Estefania (Stefi) Orta, R.Ac., is a Registered Acupuncturist and Labour Doula. She was born in Caracas, Venezuela and moved to Vancouver in 2001. She initially studied Microbiology-Immunology at UBC before discovering her love for Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). In 2006, she completed a double diploma as an Acupuncturist and Practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine at the International College of TCM in Vancouver. She has also done post-graduate studies in Acupuncture for pregnancy and gynecological disorders. She treats a wide range of conditions from muscular-skeletal pain to anxiety and stress. However, her area of focus is Women’s health; in particular Infertility, Pregnancy, and postpartum conditions. As a Doula she attends births and uses Acupuncture as needed during labour. Her treatments also involve Nutrition Counseling, Massage, Exercise Therapy, Cupping and Moxibustion, all modalities of TCM. She combines modern medical science with her Holistic approach to enhance the relationship between the body and mind and focus on the body's wisdom and natural ability to heal itself.
